Meet Doriane from France

Meet 19-year-old Doriane from Picardie, France. She has come to Zwolle in these difficult times on a 6-month Erasmus scholarship to take part in the Cibap course known as ICBD (International Creative Business Developer). While studying in Paris, a one-hour journey from her house, Doriane decided she wanted to spend some of her time in a foreign country, preferably the Netherlands. She likes this country very much for its people, its government and its social structure.

Although her school in France might be more in line with the Dutch HBO system, Doriane decided to find a Dutch MBO college to make the changeover a little bit easier. She discovered that Cibap in Zwolle is the only MBO offering an English-language creative course related to her preferred field of work: festival and event design. With the help of Cibap’s international students’ coordinator, Doriane found accommodation in the SSH student housing complex just a short walk away from Cibap.

only one day a week

All-in all she feels very comfortable among her Dutch peers, despite the fact that the students can only attend school physically one day a week because of the current coronavirus situation. At the beginning of 2021, Doriane has to complete a few months internship, preferably with a festival and event designer. So she’s trying to find a suitable business in the Netherlands so she can enjoy her favourite country a bit more!
